Please join us for a celebration of Duet (with Chorus), a new Brian Calvin book on Flood Editions. The beautiful publication arose from a commission to create an exhibit accompanying Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. As Calvin explains: “Rather than illustrating scenes from the plot of Così fan tutte, I lingered on the organizing principle of duets in Mozart’s opera, exploring harmony and dissonance through repetition and difference.”
This afternoon event will feature a short conversation with the artist and a book signing. There is never a Calvin event devoid of music, this one included, so we have arranged a very special musical presentation by great saxophonist Dave Rempis. The penultimate performance in Corbett vs. Dempsey’s original space!
