The majority of prints on sale are marked at a special price as part of a studio sale. These pieces cannot be found at this exclusive price anywhere else. The collection includes unique test prints, selected favorites and uneditioned back catalogue prints from sold out editions by Kahlo and Schiff.
About the artists:
Diego Kahlo is an artist based in Mexico City, working primarily within the medium of photography. Diego Kahlo currently works as a freelance artist and photographer, among other side jobs to help fund his travels. Diego Kahlo is represented by EnFoco Gallery, where he had his most recent two-person exhibition in August “D & D: Darryll & Diego.” Diego has received comissions in Argentina, while shooting travel photography. Diego Kahlo is inspired by travel, nature, and impressionist painting. Kahlo started out drawing, sculpting, and painting, then found his way to photography – which has become his sole focus over the years. Diego spent time in Chicago with artist/photographer Darryll Schiff, who helped Kahlo craft his style. The two artists remain friends and collaborate on occasion. Both are represented by EnFoco Gallery in Chicago. Kahlo is best known for his unique way of photographing landscapes.
Darryll Schiff has become internationally recognized and one of Chicago’s most prominent artists. His work appears in the collections of many private collectors and in leading museums, such as the Art Institute of Chicago, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and the Norton Simon Museum in California. Darryll takes the camera well beyond its conventions. Schiff’s works are characterized by an interest in contemplative moments, expressionistic abstraction and a unique broadening of what we know photography to be.
Darryll Schiff’s work has been featured in international art fairs including Art Busan South Korea, Bazaar Art Jakarta Indonesia, Photo LA, SCOPE Miami Beach and SCOPE New York. Schiff will be the sole artist exhibited by EnFoco Gallery in the upcoming fair in Miami this December.
