Gamaliel Ramírez: Celebrating the Life of a Chicago Muralist
@ Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center
4048 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60639
Opening Sunday, June 24th, from 6PM - 8PM
In this retrospective, we will present some of the artist’s most iconic pieces, dating back to the 1970’s. Gamaliel Ramírez died tragically in Puerto Rico due to health complications after Hurricane MarÍa. These artworks were brought to Chicago immediately after Gamaliel’s passing through a collaboration between the family of the artist and the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center. Join us as we pay tribute to one of Chicago’s most beloved and recognized Latino muralists. Chicago artists and some of Puerto Rico’s top muralists of the Santurce es Ley Collective will be present for this unique celebration of Gamaliel’s life and work.
