Many people think women are just now emerging in Hollywood, but did you know they were central to many innovations during the silent film era? Join us for Clara and Julia Kuperberg’s documentary about the women who ran Hollywood followed by an enlightening conversation with documentary subject and film historian Ally Acker. All Chicago Feminist Film Festival events are free and open to the public.

Preceded by the short film Woman with an Editing Bench, which is inspired by Elizaveta Svilova, the unsung editor behind Dziga Vertov’s 1929 masterpiece Man with a Movie Camera.
