From 5PM to 6PM students will deliver their project campaigns in a 90-second pitch format to attendees and to a panel of judges. Our panel guests include:
Sam Rosen, Founder of Deskpass, Co-founder of One Design Co. and the Post Family.
Charles Adler, Co-founder of Kickstarter and Founder of Lost Arts.
Ariel Bennick, 2017 EPD graduate and Design and Operations Associate at Strand Design.
Lindsay Pearson Wessels, Manager of the International Housewares Association Discover Design Expo.
From 6PM to 7PM mingle with EPD’s creators as their Kickstarter campaigns go live! Each creator will have a live campaign page available for viewing along with design prototypes and product samples.
This year’s EPD class is led by Ted Burdett, Clinical Assistant Professor of Design Entrepreneurship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During this year-long capstone course, UIC design students explore the process of building an independent practice, design & develop products for manufacture, create and manage an independent crowdfunding campaign, and learn the basics of how to design a sustainable business.
