The New Studio Salon Series & the Evanston Art Center are happy to announce a new series of spoken word events, the second Tuesday of every month including Artist Talks, Poetry, Storytelling & Plays.
Our first presenters: Nina Weiss & David Gista
Internationally recognized landscape artist, Nina’s work is represented in private and corporate collections, Her work can be seen in Hollywood films and TV series; and she exhibits in galleries throughout the United States. Nina travels frequently to document the landscape at home and abroad, completing her large-scale landscape paintings in her Highland Park studio. She teaches throughout the year, and travels with students to Europe every summer for her Landscape Workshops.
David was born and raised in Paris. His artistic career thrives on both continents. David studied art at the École Normale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His keen-eyed examination of modernity, creating a running commentary on contemporary life expressed in a variety of media. His work is very often about books and libraries and our relationships to knowledge in the digital era.
