Join us for the closing reception for “Ephemeral Whiplash”, a solo exhibition by Crush Entity! This is the official last day to check out the show, meet the artist, grab some great pieces and get a chance to win a gorgeous limited edition print, as well as learn about a few surprises! This is Crush’s first solo show in Chicago and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share his new work with you! There is something for everyone here and work to fit all budgets so this is a great place to start your collection or add to it!
The exhibition includes mini collage paintings, drawings, screen prints, hand painted bottles, and other various containers decorated with the narrative of finding a permanent feeling, memory or attachment to that which disappears, including life itself. Visitors can expect to see artwork done in collaboration with other artists including CHema Skandal! & Crop Glass.
In a consumer-based society, people can easily disregard the fact that we create enormous amounts of waste on a daily basis. Artwork has the power of bringing attention to certain issues that the artist is interested in immersing themselves in. “Ephemeral Whiplash” is an example of this as we are brought into the artist’s humorous and beautifully weird world. The fleeting nature of expendable goods, our habits, our hobbies and mundane objects are incorporated into Crush’s artwork and given a new breadth of life while being juxtaposed against the fleeting nature of life and it’s fragility through the overall installation. “Created from objects leftover from my everyday interactions, I’ve elevated these relics to tell a narrative of loss, salvation, regurgitation, redemption and death.” – Crush
