Poets respond to visual artists’ work AS IT HAPPENS. Working in teams over the course of several months, five visual artists and fourteen poets have created interrelated visual-textual pieces that speak to each other and to the process of creation. Poets followed along with an artist’s work in progress, writing in response to the work at different stages of its development from initial sketch to finished piece. The poems are presented as visual objects themselves, alongside the work that inspired them. The result captures the process of creation and collaboration: ideas, tension, and expression in flux.
