About the project:

With the support of Threewalls’ RaD Lab, Bielak and Schmalz are examining the shifting nature of cities through the lens of large-scale development projects, revealing the residue they leave on the physical and psychic landscapes of places, and speculating on possible urban futures.

About the artists:
Balas & Wax is Susy Bielak and Fred Schmalz’s ongoing artistic collaboration. Their work mines social histories, texts and archives—using poetry, ethnography, and multimedia production to create writing, installations, performances and public works.
