Hokin Honors is an annual exposition of the wide spectrum of creative talent at Columbia College Chicago. Now in its 24th year, Hokin Honors showcases undergraduate work from a variety of media and disciplines, celebrating the diversity of the term ‘creative’. Nominated and mentored by their department faculty, students develop work that exhibit excellence in their respective fields – spanning from performance and visual arts to typically unexhibited work in the fields of math and science.
Hokin Honors 2017 exemplifies the diversity of Columbia College Chicago’s creative community. This year’s show features the work of 26 students from the departments of Cinema Arts and Media, Art and Design, Photography, Science and Mathematics, Theatre, Creative Writing, English, Dance, and Fashion Studies.
Participating Artists include: Jeremy Weber, Nicole Castro, Devon King, Kate Anderson, Josh Corson, Dahazee Flores, Ryan Danielle Fleming, John J. Lenahan IV, Chas Mathieu, Rachel Hentrich, Ari Kirsch, Amber P.,Jared Sawdey, Wang, Tomoe Yunoki, Hayden Penn, Dani Cortes, Ben Witt, Madeline Moore, Samantha Rutan, Henry Voellmecke, Pete Willson, Evan Gulock, Bri Heath and Alivia Blade, Jet Traverso, and Endia Brown-Bey
The Hokin Project is an arts management practicum course that provides students of all majors with practical experience in the development, curation, and execution of exhibitions, including programs and events at the Hokin Gallery. The Hokin Project operates through student run collaboration between the Business and Entrepreneurship Department and the Department of Exhibitions, Performance Student Spaces (DEPS) of Columbia College Chicago.
