Kenneth Bailey: reimagining the SERC in Chicago
@ Compound Yellow
244 Lake St, Oak Park, IL 60302
Opening Monday, March 27th, from 6PM - 8PM
We are so excited to host Kenneth Bailey at Compound Yellow
on Monday the 27th of March, between 6:00-8:00 p.m. for an informal talk on the reimagining of the Social Emergency Response Center here in Chicago.
As a fellow at the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT in 2003, Bailey found himself concerned with what he perceived to be a ‘crisis of imagination in the civil sector’. Later in 2006, he co-founded Boston’s Design Studio for Social Intervention (DS4SI), an artistic organization that uses design to change how social justice is imagined, developed, and deployed.
This event aims to provide an opportunity for artists, policy makers and community members to rethink more creatively and expansively on how we can reimagine, develop and deploy a social justice platform in Chicago, using both local and international perspectives.
I hope you will be able to join us for an informal talk with Kenny and share a potluck meal! We look forward to seeing you here!
This event is BYOB, please bring something to share!
