Artist Rodrigo Lara Zendejas will have a discussion about his work, including the works in the exhibition Four Saints In Three Acts.
About Four Saints In Three Acts
Taking its title from a 1920s opera composed by Virgil Thomson and libretto by Gertrude Stein, this group exhibition brings together contemporary artists such as Andrea Büttner, Jeni Spota C., Devin Mays, Kehinde Wiley, Nate Young, and Rodrigo Lara Zendejas who appropriate the iconography of saints and other religious forms in order to critically explore their relationship to this imagery.
Rodrigo Lara Zendejas
Rodrigo Lara Zendejas was born in Mexico. He received a BFA from Universidad de Guanajuato, Mexico, and a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Lara’s work has been shown extensively in Mexico, the US, Canada, Europe and China. He has had solo exhibitions at the Hyde Park Art Center, National Museum of Mexican Art and Mana Contemporary 613 among others. Currently he lives and works in Chicago, IL.
