Timothy Linn (1947-2015) Memorial Exhibition
Timothy Linn has collected materials over decades from natural and urban environments. Linn has utilized some of these materials in previous works and often recycles them into new pieces. The artist selects these objects, for their tactile and visual qualities, most of them, in one way or another, have an affinity with the limited geometries of primitive and ancient art.
Timothy Linn lived in New York City. He received both his MFA and BFA from the School of Art Institute of Chicago. Linn’s first solo exhibition was at N.A.M.E. Gallery in Chicago in 1975. He has exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout many cities in the US. Timothy has had two solo exhibitions Of Necessity (2010) and Painterly Geometrics (2013) at Heskin Contemporary.
