Addington Gallery will host a panel discussion on Saturday, October 1 at 3pm featuring Chicago artists Susan Kraut, Steven Carrelli, Louise LeBourgeois, and Didier Nolet.
“Painting the Contemplative Space”
The artists, two who focus on quiet, evocative landscape in their work and two who focus on meditative interiors and still life paintings, (and all of whom have taught at various institutions in the Chicago area) will discuss their ideas and feelings about observation, fantasy, and the act of representational painting currently being addressed in their artwork, and how those ideas might fit into a larger context in Chicago and beyond.
