Crafting Cultures:Palestinian Embroidery Workshop

Project Prospera’s Craft(ing) Culture(s) series invites you to:

(1) Learn the symbolism and techniques of traditional Palestinian embroidery – a centuries old form of women’s artisanship and expression.

(2) Receive a tour of the beautifully painted Orthodox iconography of Our Lady of Cicero Church (St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church).

(3) Engage in cross-cultural dialogue and discussion to build mutual understanding and break down barriers between communities.

(4) Hear about the histories, migration stories, and experiences of Chicago’s Palestinian Christian community.

*Please note that Embroidery Supplies will be available with sliding-scale donation on-site*
