Chris Kraus Lecture
@ The Leroy Neiman Center
37 S Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60603
Opening Friday, October 14th, from 6PM - 9PM
Maverick, SAIC’s feminist student group, is excited to welcome Chris Kraus!
Chris Kraus is an esteemed writer, filmmaker, and intellectual, best known for her book I Love Dick, which has been turned into a show for Amazon. I Love Dick consists of letters and narrative about Kraus and her pursuit of a man, Dick, who is a cohort of her husband, a philosopher. In the book both Kraus and her husband write letters to Dick about her love and lust for the affair. The subtext of the book is the way that society undermines women’s sexual, emotional, and intellectual impulses.
The event will take place Friday 10/14 at 6pm on the first floor of the Neiman Center. A Q&A with the audience will follow the lecture. It is not open to the public.
