Join curator Faheem Majeed as he discusses Intuit’s 25th Anniversary exhibition Post Black Folk Art in America 1930-1980-2016. The exhibition will examine the art and impact of the Corcoran Gallery of Art’s significant 1982 exhibition, Black Folk Art in America 1930-1980. The artists comprising Intuit’s exhibit will include both those featured in the original show and contemporary African American voices from Chicago and beyond.

Faheem Majeed is a full-time practicing artist who explores civic-mindedness, community activism and institutionalized racism through both his art and his community involvement. This curatorial conversation will situate the exhibition historically while also bringing to light the larger themes and forces through which the art is created and the artists are motivated.
