@ TRITRIANGLE
1550 N Milwaukee Ave, Fl 3, Chicago, Illinois 60622
Opening Friday, May 27th, at 7PM
“Color & H Symposium” features the work of more than 12 artists, performers and writers giving performative lectures regarding the topic of “Color”. The symposium is divided into three separate panels and panelists were invited to participate by panel topic. All three panels involve the topic of color and feature four or more panelists. The three panel propositions and the featured panelists are,
PANEL ONE – 7PM, COLOR &: HUSTLE
“What is the color of the deceived or better yet deception itself? If language and color are inherently linked, what can happen when both are used strategically? What if color is the con-man? Panelists are invited to present lectures and performances discussing manipulation, efforts in duplicity and all out survival and the associating colors.”
Featured Panelists:
— OLIVE STEFANSKI
— NATALIA NICHOLSON
— JOHN LINCOLN-VOGEL
(TBC)
PANEL TWO – 8PM, COLOR &: HABIT
“Like the sky being blue and the grass continuing to grow green, habits are the things we do, often without thinking. Panelists are invited to present reflections on the everyday, the addictive, and the disciplined, adding color to the things they sometimes do blindly.”
Featured Panelists:
— KAYLA ANDERSON & CHRIS COLLINS
— KITTISAK CHONTONG
— NIC KAY
— APRIL MARTIN & ZOË WONFOR
(TBC)
PANEL THREE – 9PM, COLOR &: H(A)UNTING
“Is color, predator or prey? Possessed or possessor (specter or spectator)? Exploring colorful pursuits, panelists are invited to present topics in power, persistence, domination, and seduction.”
Featured Panelists:
— CAMERON CLAYBORN
— KEVIN SPARROW
— CALEB YONO
— CHANHEE CHOI
Moderator: NOLA WEBER
(TBC)
Panelists were invited to each present a seven to ten minute multi-media/performative/experimental lecture pertinent to each topic. Although entirely up to the panelists/speakers distinction, it is a goal of the symposium to balance both the informative with the performative. Panelists were prompted to contribute not only information that may be new to attendees but to dedicate themselves to the task of presenting this information in brand new, adventurous and exciting ways.
There will be a short Q&A after each panel. Full event program will be updated soon.
