TURN THE OTHER EYE: A CURATED ART PARTY is a one-night only gallery opening of 200 new paintings and drawings by Chicago artist Rebecca George. Exhibition is designed by Beth Borum. Foreword in Exhibition catalog by Art Historian Ginny Voedisch. Exhibition is co-curated by Arthur Connor, Christine Connor, Mary Dorrell, JoAnn Hayden and Ken Hogrefe.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Rebecca George is a professional artist and adjunct faculty at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and The University of Chicago. In 2012, Rebecca Founded and currently directs The Art House, a gallery and working studio for serious artists studying painting, drawing and printmaking. Rebecca graduated with honors from The Chicago Academy for the Arts (1990), was Valedictorian and speaker at her BFA graduation ceremony from Maryland Institute, College of Art, where she studied fine arts on a full scholarship (1993). In 2007, Rebecca graduated in 10 months early with a MS in Business from Spertus Institute and went on to receive scholarships and a MFA in Painting and Drawing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2011). She actively exhibits, teaches and grows her studio practice. Rebecca George has been featured in many publications including the Chicago Sun-Times, Gaper’s Block, Parallel Planets and the Les Femmes Folles Anthology.
