Valentina Zamfirescu is transporting Loo to the hottest club in town. Everyone is dressed to impress and out to make their mark. They’ve waited in line to get in, downed their drinks, danced like all eyes are on them, and now they need to take a major slash. Club toilets are not rooms of rest. Their light is stark and still. The music is reduced to just the base and a high pitched ringing in your ear. Just as relief hits you sitting on the toilet, you reach out and notice a swipe of fine veins under the tissue. Vamp reds, baby pinks, opulent purples, vile blues. A beat of a moment. Beautiful marks left by each person before you. Wash your hands. Someone offers you a towel. Adjust your face. They offer you some perfume, or a cream. They offered you a tampon on the way in. Before you go they hand you a candy. You pop in your mouth. The chocolate melts leaving a cool mint sting. Feeling fresher than you walked in the place, you thrust yourself back out to shred that dance floor.
