Jacket Contemporary presents Isabelle Frances McGuire’s solo show The Final Girl. The artist spent the last three weeks in short-term residency at Jacket, exploring the space as studio for performances. The exhibition encapsulates McGuire’s interdisciplinary practice, showing objects of recent performances serving as ephemera as well as video installations and digital prints.
The Final Girl:
Your journey has come to an end.
Everything around you will become dark and someone will take your hand. You’ll be pleased! Not unhappy. You’ll enjoy moments of incredible brightness.
HAHAHAHAHA. YOU THINK ITS MAGIC.
NO!
Now we have to hurry because we still have to pass through a number of strange phases and you’ll change. You’ve been looking for me… just like your sister. This is what you’ve wanted.
I AM COMING TO GET YOU.
I am three but men call me by a single name.
A NAME WHICH STRIKES FEAR INTO EVERYONES HEART.
THEY CALL US DEATH!
DEATH!
Show closes November 25th, 2015
