All I Can See From Here

@ South of the Tracks

4223 W. Lake St #430

Opening Sunday, September 13th, from 3PM - 7PM

On view through Sunday, October 11th

South of the Tracks is pleased to present “All I Can See From Here…” as the galleries first exhibition in its new 800 sq ft’ space, located at 4223 W. Lake St. #430. The exhibition features new work from Brooklyn and Chicago-based artists, Talia Shulze and Justin Nalley, respectively.

Pulling imagery from still-life painting, Shulze reprocesses photographs of flower vases and digitally manipulates singular images which create a hazy visual field alluding to another plane of being. Fragmented, pixelated and ghostly hued multiples create a gestural horizon line that evoke posted bills as well as broken portals found on Tumblr. Likewise, Justin Nalley’s side walk surfer childhood promotes playfulness in his minimalist sculptures pulling detritus from around the city streets. Underlying the weight of the concrete sculptures hints of longing permeate for mirages just beyond the edge of the sidewalk.

The opening reception is from 3-7pm, September 13th at 4223 W. Lake St #430, Chicago IL.
