Graffiti from the streets of Chicago pours into Hyde Park Art Center’s upcoming exhibit “Creatures from the Concrete,” a 90-foot assemblage of graffiti, stencil and wheat-paste collage, August 30 – December 6. A reception for “Creatures from the Concrete” and all concurrent exhibitions will be held Sunday, September 13, from 3-5 p.m.
Seven women artists will work collaboratively and improvisationally to create a new site-specific mural at the Art Center. Led by Liz Lazdins (aka Beloved), contributors including photographer Eve Rivera, photographer and street artist Zorzorzor, illustrator and yarn bomber MonstroChicka, and artists/graffiti writers Stef Skills, Zena, Shan and Bel2.
