For Enact a Preservation, Phil Peters reconstructs the unrealized view of Mies van der Rohe’s Resor House near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The partially completed house, originally designed to span a wide mill creek, was ultimately washed away in a flood in 1943. To create his three-channel video, Peters erected a scaffolding on the site of the ruined building. Using the remaining foundation pillars and Mies’ many drawings as a guide, the artist built a filming platform at the level that would have been the ground floor for the home.
