A+D Gallery’s 5th Annual Summer Residency, Live Station Project is an ongoing endeavor by the Unit 2 Collective to engage people around issues and challenges within modern life, and share strategies and methods for improvement of our world. Shifting Ecologies, Lost & Found is about the changing relationship we have with nature, our source of sustenance and regeneration, as well as the solutions and systems people have developed to adapt and flourish over time, many of which are lost to us today and need to be found again.

The exhibit will discursively reflect the current Unit 2 Collective practice in Michigan of self sufficient, enriched living on a farm and regenerative self-contemplation at a cabin in the woods. The gallery space will oscillate between an experiential Wood Shed for reflection, to an active and energized DIY project space for making. Bringing the objects, processes and experiences from rural Michigan to the urban Chicago space allows people to reflect, share and learn towards the goal of shaping future ecologies.

Join us for a series of DIY Maker Station workshops, hear from experts about farm and urban DIY subjects, and learn how you can integrate solutions into your daily life.
