Lucky Pierre: The Sky Is Falling. The Money’s All Gone

@ Mana Contemporary Chicago

2233 S. Throop St. Chicago, IL 60608

Opening Friday, January 30th, from 6PM - 9PM

On view through Friday, April 17th

We are living in a time of unprecedented technological wonder and the alarming consequences of unchecked “growth” – natural, industrial and economic disasters – threaten the patterns of ordinary life. How can artists respond to and work against despair amid evidence of ongoing economic, environmental, and social fragility? Are we the relief workers of the new collapse?

This winter, Lucky Pierre as L.P.F.U will lead the collaborative seminar The Sky Is Falling. The Money’s All Gone. Over a period of 10 weeks (5 sessions), L.P.F.U facilitators and participants will work together to develop creative responses to themes of environmental and economic fragility.

In response to the continuing growth of the corporatized neoliberal art school/university, Lucky Pierre has initiated Lucky Pierre Free University (L.P.F.U.) a self-organized, collaborative research and learning project.
