An Illuminating Explication of Complex Peripatetic Endeavors
Dion will discuss his practice, which examines how dominant ideologies and public institutions shape our understanding of history, knowledge, and the natural world.
A widely-exhibited artist who has been profiled on the PBS series art:21 and was included in documenta 13, Dion’s installations include The Marvelous Museum: A Mark Dion Project at the Oakland Museum of California; The Curator’s Office, which is on permanent display at the Minneapolis Institute of Art; and The Octagon Room at MassMOCA. His work will be featured in The Way of the Shovel: Art as Archaeology, an upcoming exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
