Ewa Bloch & Robin Dluzen: In Disclosure
@ EB Projects
1550 N. Honore Street, Chicago, IL 60622
Opening Friday, November 1st, from 6PM - 10PM
On view through Sunday, November 3rd
“In Disclosure” features a selection of multimedia works by Chicago-based artists Ewa Bloch and Robin Dluzen based on personal and cultural histories, and the relationship that both have to the construction of contemporary identity. For Bloch, her personal photo archives, old wardrobe pieces and images from contemporary fashion magazines provide starting points for investigations into the notions of present day feminine beauty and self image. For Dluzen, manmade and natural structures are indicative of the ways that a landscape can embody the labor, class and economic realities of those who inhabit it. For both artists, the integration of found and sourced imagery and material is paramount, entwining additional histories and meanings into the artists’ individual narratives.
