Daniel Bennett: Definitions 1
@ Aspect Ratio
119 N Peoria #3D
Opening Thursday, June 6th, from 6PM - 8PM
On view through Saturday, July 13th
Daniel Bennett’s work shows an exploration of the human body interacting with modern technologies. Bennett experiments with ideas of invisibility present within today’s technologically automated world. By treating his body as a tool, Bennett practices a type of performance-research hybrid. He playfully engages with elements of the everyday, such as, moving walkways and electric sliding doors.
Daniel Bennett lives and works in Chicago. He received his BFA in Sculpture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He recently completed his Master’s of Fine Art in New Media from UIC. He has been included in exhibitions at the Peoria Art Guild, OpenSource Gallery, Champaign, IL; Boneyard Arts Festival, Champaign, IL; Springer Cultural Center, Champaign, IL, and MDW Fair, Chicago. He has performed at the Krannert Art Museum and the Thomas M. Seibel Center for Computer Science and recently produced an immersive installation at Gallery 400, Chicago.
