Johana Moscoso, Kristin Nason & Kristina Felix: Indelicate Objects
@ Chicago Artists' Coalition
217 N. Carpenter Street
Opening Friday, March 15th, at 6PM
On view through Thursday, April 4th
Chicago Artists Coalition is pleased to present Indelicate Objects a three-person exhibition as part of the HATCH Projects Residency, featuring the work of Johana Moscoso, Kristin Nason and Kristina Felix, curated by Jessica Cochran. The sculptures and installations in the exhibition reflect how each artist’s singular imagination and relationship to artistic labor informs their negotiation with everyday objects—objects that operate indelicately at the outer limits of normative function and expected meaning. Artists as “art workers” occupy a speculative space for production; their relationships to things being emancipatory and intimate. In the studio, that which is ordinary is re-imagined, and disparate objects are merged together in the expressive or subversive service of affect or aesthetic.
There will be an opening reception on Friday, March 15, 2013, and the exhibition will run through April 4, 2013.
