Impossible Conversations
@ LeRoy Neiman Center Gallery
37 S. Wabash Ave
Opening Thursday, September 20th, from 4PM - 6PM
On view through Saturday, October 13th
Conversations often regarded as impossible are intrinsic and unavoidable. Through evolutionary based performances, this exhibition seeks to amplify incredible dialogues that encompass concepts of progress, air pollutions, trees, and the gallery space itself. Whether through Meghan Moe Beitiks’ (MFA 2013) “Car-E-Oke,” a series of videos that alter the sounds of car exhausts into sing-a-longs, or Lindsey French’s (MFA 2013) exercise in producing a novel from a conversation with an oak tree, Impossible Conversations attempts to breach subjects that are otherwise foreign and unavailable.
