Stacia Yeapanis: Over and Over Again

Chicago Artists’ Coalition is pleased to present OVER AND OVER AGAIN, a solo exhibition featuring work by BOLT Resident Stacia Yeapanis. Combining video, sculpture, collage and embroidery, the exhibition addresses the sometimes grueling, sometimes pleasant sisyphusian nature of daily life in order to reveal the ways that repetition can provide solace, understanding, and the opportunity for transformation in the face of its own monotony. In Yeapanis’ work, the collection and accumulation of ubiquitous materials emphasize time and the endurance required to exist from moment to moment. Appropriation and remix reveal the ways we choose to make our lives meaningful, even when we didn’t choose the circumstances in which we live. There will be an opening reception on Friday, May 11 from 6-9pm, and the exhibition will run through May 31, 2012.
