Mar 3rd 2012

No matter what kind of weather we may be facing, on Saturday, March 3rd from 6pm – 10pm we invite you to join us for the closing reception of ‘STUCK UP…’ This will be your final chance to contribute your own slaps for consideration in the second volume of DB Burkeman’s book and to see the show that has been recommended by critics from Flavorpill, Time Out Chicago, and New City. We will also have beverages courtesy of Modelo.

‘STUCK UP …’ is a traveling exhibition, curated by Burkeman from his extensive personal collection that provides an unparalleled opportunity to explore the expanding role that stickers have played in popular culture over the past four decades. ‘STUCK UP…’ features stickers from Street Art legends (Banksy, Barry McGee, Shepard Fairey, Space Invader, KAWS), and internationally lauded contemporary artists (Andy Warhol, Jenny Holzer, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Tom Sachs) shown side by side with anonymous stickers peeled from the streets of NYC.

On display and available for purchase are a selection of new sticker-based collage pieces from the ever-talented Chris Mendoza, the sculpture ‘Permanent’ from Blue Dog 10003, a showcase of limited edition stickers and signed black books from The Slap Happy Sticker Invitational and a variety of limited edition goodies from ‘STUCK UP…’.

Compelling art. Cascading beverages. Copious swag.
