Artists Andrew Martin and Sam Harvey push and play with the traditional construction of formal elements such as the lip, the foot, the body of the work and the manner in which people can engage with the work in a fresh and new way.
Through pinching and coiling or through casting slip in a variety of methods, artists Andrew Martin and Sam Harvey are creating work that continually investigates the formal qualities of the vessel and the method in which we relate to it. This exploration consists of stories created in the process of their making; the manner in which they create voluptuous surfaces by pressing out the bulging flesh of clay or pinching into shape a buttressed seam.
This event is open to the general public. Enjoy the reception in Lillsteet’s gallery space and meet artist Andrew Martin.
