there is a line
it is invisible yet firmly located
at its best
it is between two people
it serves to divide them, yet join them
these persons willfully obey the line
these persons form groups
groups like us, you, and I
what you always thought was your reflection
was simply your initial encounter with an idea so grand
it could not resist the gravitational force of cliche
or some sort of emulation otherwise related
do not contemplate the nature of the newly discovered space
or why or how it is where it is
don’t question how it is that the furniture became so arranged
never mind that the shards mysteriously disappear
or that the entire wall appears to buckle upon impact
or that you know not of what these sentences refer to
just willfully obey the line
the one that exists between those observing and those observed
existing aside from the problem that there is no way to discern whom is which
or perhaps because of that
the one that exists between us, you, and I
