@ DePaul Art Museum
935 West Fullerton Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614
Opening Tuesday, November 8th, at 7PM
On view through Wednesday, December 31st
Tony Fitzpatrick makes his case for why dealers don’t deserve their 50% of the take when they sell an artist’s work. Richard Polsky argues on the part of the dealers and explains why they’re entitled to their 50% cut. See who comes out on top in this lively discussion.
Tony Fitzpatrick is a renegade in the contemporary art scene. With imagery influenced by street life in Chicago and childhood encounters with Catholic icons, he creates his small etchings with the precision of needle on skin. He is the founder of Big Cat Press.
Richard Polsky is the author of The Art Prophets. in 1984 he founded Acme Art, where he showed the work of such artists as Joseph Cornell, Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol and Bill Traylor. Since 1989 he has been a private dealer specializing in works by postwar artists, with an emphasis on Pop Art.
The Art Prophets will be for sale at this event.
