Opening Thursday, October 27th, from 6PM - 7PM
Meet artist Jessica Stockholder, who has won international acclaim for her genre-defying multimedia installation pieces, which incorporate found objects and painting in bold, vibrant colors. As the newly appointed chair of the University of Chicago’s department of visual arts, Stockholder will add her distinctive voice to the dynamic community of art-makers and art-thinkers on campus and in the city.
The talk will feature a presentation of her work and artistic process followed by a brief question and answer period.
Presented as part of Chicago Artists Month by the Smart Museum of Art and the Open Practice Committee in the Department of Visual Arts, The University of Chicago.
