Noah Furmanโs recent paintings deal with unitary formsโthe letter, the hand, the brainโthe body part truncated, amputated from the whole, the wordโs mark separated from its meaning, mashed into a non-referent thing. They aspire to be primal and primary, aiming at the trembling question of what it means to look and understand.
