Butoh and Movement Workshop

@ Links Hall

3111 N Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60618

Opening Saturday, June 8th, from 2:30PM - 4:30PM

Mitsu Salmon’s Butoh and Movement Workshop will draw from Butoh, contemporary dance, and experimental theater, exploring the connection with the body, unconscious and imagery. The class will focus on body-weather, Noguchi, and mythical creatures through guided imagery and structured improvisation. Noguchi exercises foster an experience of the body as water with the goal of encountering and releasing the natural body. Students will also work with guided imagery, movement, and structured improvisation. Students are welcome to modify exercises based on their imaginations and interests. All levels welcome; please wear comfortable clothing.
