30% to 40% of the world’s food supply is regularly sent to the landfill. This is too much.
This exhibit is a small picture into the volume of resources that are thrown away, sent to the landfill, decompose anaerobically, and become methane, a gas 30x more effective at trapping heat than carbon dioxide. This exhibit also highlights the creative ways this issue can be resolved. Instead of food and non-food items being discarded, we will see the ways in which people want to interact with these objects, sometimes by eating them.
While this will be the opening night, the exhibit and other events will continue through the month of April (dates TBA).
Please bring something to share that you found, made, or no longer want. This is a no-cost event recognizing our collective abundance of available resources, so please do not spend money.
If you’d like to contribute in another way or beforehand or afterhand, please contact me directly.
