Furtive Learning Labs
@ Chicago Cultural Center
78 E Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602
Opening Friday, April 5th, from 12PM - 2PM
On view through Sunday, April 7th
Artists Daniel Hojnacki, Karolis Usonis, and Krista Wortendyke use photographic archives in their artistic practice as seen in the exhibition Furtive in the Michigan Avenue Galleries at the Chicago Cultural Center. Reclaimed and re-contextualized photographs are often used to create new meaning or to underline our shifting perceptions about photography.
Join the artists for this interactive session as they lead participants through the process of working with photographic archives, scanning images on a flatbed scanner, and making alterations to the original images to create new images in a contemporary context.
This exhibition is presented through DCASE’s ArtsSpace in-kind grant program and supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
