We’ll enjoy food, drinks, mingling, and a tour through a selection of talented artists and what they’re currently working on. It’s an
exciting overview of art that’s happening in Chicago.
What is Not Just Another Pretty Face?
Not Just Another Pretty Face is a collaborative commissioning
project created by Hyde Park Art Center to arrange commissions between patrons and artists who create engaging and
personalized art, ranging from traditional to very untraditional.
2019 marks the seventh installment of Not Just Another Pretty Face, and will culminate with an unveiling event in December 2019, an exhibition in the Art Center’s main gallery through February 2020, and a catalog documenting the art and participant
experiences.
What are the goals of the project?
Hyde Park Art Center’s mission is to stimulate and sustain visual art in Chicago with the goal of making the city a place where artists live, work and thrive. Not Just Another Pretty Face is at the heart of this mission and seeks to:
– Activate local collectors to invest in their city’s artists;
– Encourage a new and diverse group of people to think of
themselves as supporters and collectors of contemporary art; and
– Build lasting relationships between artists and patrons, create a
new base of support for artists, and invest in Chicago’s
cultural vitality.
