Exit to/from: Closing Reception
@ SITE Galleries
37 S Wabash Ave, Chicago IL, 60603
Opening Wednesday, May 15th, from 4:15PM - 5:45PM
On view through Wednesday, May 15th
At eight in the morning you exit your cozy apartment, you enter to a new day. As you enter a coffee shop, you exit from a windy street. In the constant action of traveling, the line between entrance and exit blurs. Exit to/from aims to provide an interactive installation and open exhibition experience to further complicate our perceptions of art and the everyday. Space Study is an artist collective comprised of Misty Choi (BFA 2019), Naoki Nakatani (BFA 2018) and Hannah Bassewitz (BFA 2019).
What It Means to Have an Exhibition: Artists’ Talk:
Space Study in conversation with members from the SITE directors team discussing the research and ideas behind the show, as well as the group effort that brought this exhibition to life.
Round Table Critique
Open forum event facilitated by the Space Study team where members of the audience speak on their experiences with the exhibition. Audiences are welcome to leave comments on sticky notes that are to be provided at the beginning of the critique. These notes will be displayed in the gallery space until the last day of the show.
Exit to/from: Closing Reception
On the last day of the show documentation and ephemera of the exhibition making process will be exhibited along with written feedback from the Round Table Critique. We will also premiere video documentation of audience interaction with the moving elements in the exhibition.
