Ruby Pinto is an organizer and artist based in Chicago who believes that creative expression is at the core of liberation. For the past 5 years, Ruby has worked within movements for racial, economic and gender liberation. With a focus on prison and police abolition and building a world beyond capitalism, she currently finds her political home with For The People Artists Collective, a radical squad of Black artists and artists of color who believe it is crucial to create work that uplifts and projects struggle, resistance, liberation, and survival within and for our marginalized communities and movements in our city and our world.
Ruby recently helped to curate “Do Not Resist?” a community-based, artist-led visual project and exhibition addressing the past 100 years of police violence and community organizing in Chicago
