Join LATITUDE’s June Artist in Residence Jeremy Bolen in conversation with artist and environmental activist Jenny Kendler. This discussion seeks to re-examine ideas of visibility and geological time as represented in both Bolen and Kendler’s artistic practices. Bolen will lead the group in an deep listening meditation and overview of his work. During the conversation, the pair will discuss recent creative projects and their involvement with Deep Time Chicago, an arts, activism, and research initiative based in Chicago.
Bolen will also prepare several work prints for the public to engage with during this event.

About Jeremy Bolen:
Jeremy Bolen is a Chicago based artist, researcher, organizer, and educator interested in site specific, experimental modes of documentation and presentation. Much of Bolen’s work involves rethinking systems of recording in an attempt to observe invisible presences that remain from various scientific experiments and human interactions with the earth’s surface. He is a recent recipient of the PACT Zollverein Residency in Essen, Germany; Oxbow Faculty Artist Residency in Saugatuck, MI; and Center for Land Use Interpretation Residency in Wendover, Utah.
About Jenny Kendler:
Jenny Kendler (b. 1980, New York City) is an interdisciplinary artist, environmental activist, naturalist & wild forager who lives in Chicago and various forests. She is currently the first Artist-in-Residence with Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Kendler helps run artist residency ACRE and art/research/activism initiative Deep Time Chicago. Alongside an interdisciplinary team, she was recently awarded a major grant for her community-engagement project Garden for a Changing Climate.
