In his new book, Serhii Plokhii, an acclaimed historian and writer, professor of Ukrainian history at Harvard University, presents a compelling history of the 1986 disaster and its aftermath, utilizing Communist party, government and KGB security police archival materials that were made available after Ukraine’s 2014 revolution.

Join us for the presentation of the new book and be moved as Plokhii’s narrative plunges you into the tension of the Chernobyl control room on that fateful night when human frailty and design flaws combined to such devastating effect.
