10:00AM–12:00PM Tuesdays
In this free 10-week visual arts course, students ages 12-14 from the Little Village, Pilsen, and/or Brighton Park areas will explore issues related to incarceration, immigration and Mexican mythology, while using their creativity to draw connections between the past and the present.
Students will create their own myths and narratives, utilizing art-making skills and existing Mexican folktales to reclaim the historical narrative of immigration and incarceration.
Students are highly encouraged to attend all ten weeks. Class size is limited and advance enrollment is strongly recommended.
Cost: Free. Enrollment open to ages 12-14 RSVP is required.
