Addressing Intergenerational Trauma
@ OPEN Center for the Arts
2214 S Sacramento Ave, Chicago, IL 60623
Opening Friday, June 22nd, from 11AM - 2PM
On view through Saturday, August 18th
Led by Jose Blanco and Luis Crespo.
This is an opportunity for community members to get hands-on experience making art that has an immediate impact.
Throughout the course of this free 10-week multimedia collaborative art project, adults of all ages from the Little Village, Pilsen, and/or Brighton Park areas will create mixed media projects that explore issues related to incarceration and immigration, drawing connections between the past and the present.
Led by professional artists, participants will work together to create a compelling, dynamic art project that will be shared with the community and the public at an Open House on Friday, May 11th.
Community Art Projects will also be shared in some capacity in a culminating, citywide exhibition for the Envisioning Justice exhibition in May 2019.
