The 2017-2018 SAIC INTERLINK Visiting Artist and Curator Program is very happy to announce a lecture by visiting artist and curator Alexandria Eregbu!
Alexandria Eregbu is a visual artist, independent curator, and educator. Her work has been presented at the the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, The Luminary in St. Louis, Chicago Cultural Center, Milwaukee Art Museum, and Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, NY. She has held fellowships with The Center for Afrofuturist Studies, Stony Island Arts Bank, and Camargo Foundation in Cassis, France. Her practice has received generous support from the Propeller Fund, Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Independent Curators International, and Joyce Foundation. Alexandria has been recognized by Africanah: Arena for Contemporary African, African-American, & Caribbean Art, Hyperallergic, Temporary Art Review, AFROPUNK, VAM Magazine, Time Out Chicago, and was listed in Newcity’s “Breakout Artists: Chicago’s Next Generation of Image Makers.” She received her BFA in Performance and Fiber & Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is a 2016 3Arts Award recipient.
