Join us for our second iteration of DISCOURSE featuring photographic artist, Anahid Ghorbani.
Anahid Ghorbani received her MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago in 2017 and her BA in 2012 from Tehran University of Art in Iran. Engaged with creating site specific installations that utilize photography and video, she explores themes of dehumanization of women around the world particularly in her own Iranian culture. Her goal is to engage, inform, and invite dialogue around human rights, and to move beyond being solely an observer by creating metaphors that speak to the heart of these complex issues. Ghorbani is the recipient of the 2017 Albert P. Weisman Award and the 2017-18 Diane Dammeyer Fellowship in Photographic Arts and Social Issues.
